We are recruiting for an Indoor Pig Stockperson for a farm in Somerset, BA6.

The role involves working within the finishing department, looking after the younger pigs, from 6kg up to 90kg on their 400-sow farrow-to-finish unit.

Job description:

• Checking the pigs and monitoring their progress


• Weighing, moving and cleaning out pigs


• Power washing after each move


• Cover work in the farrowing herd and the serving


• Operating a dry feed system


• Mixing feed using locally sourced ingredients

Person specifications:

• Good pig husbandry skills


• Strong stockmanship skills


• Commitment to maintaining high welfare standards


• Exceptional attention to detail


• A drive to achieve optimal results

Salary: Up to £30,000 DOE

Hours: 07:00 - 17:00 Monday to Friday and 07:00 - 11:00 on alternate weekends.
