Stockperson and General Farm Worker for Mixed Organic Farm

Are you someone with livestock and tractor driving experience, looking for a new challenge?

Due to changes in our family circumstances, we need an extra member in our team. We are hoping to find someone who has a passion for organic and sustainable farming or someone who is interested in developing their knowledge in this direction.

We are an organic family farm with 22 suckler cows and 125 ewes with all progeny sold finished. We have a unique turkey enterprise breeding and rearing organic Norfolk Black turkeys. Stubble turnips are grown for the sheep and spring oats are grown for the turkeys. There is also hedgelaying work and firewood processing which heats the farmhouse.

In this role you will:

• Have day to day responsibility for the sheep flock and suckler herd, being supported by the owner and two experienced part time helpers


• Help with the turkey enterprise


• Be doing tractor driving, including yard work in winter, mowing, tedding, topping and possibly muckspreading in the summer


• Be willing to help with hedgelaying and firewood processing

Hours: 5 days per week plus 2 weekends in December and 4 weekends in April.

Accommodation available in semi self-contained flat in farmhouse.

This position would suit a single enthusiastic person who is looking to gain new experience and to take on new responsibility.
