Our Estate in South Shropshire is set over 4,000 acres and includes an estate and a Farm. We are a leading agricultural business with a strong commitment to sustainable farming and animal welfare. Farming a diverse range of livestock, we pride ourselves on our high standards of care and management.

 

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Livestock Manager to work with the Farms Director and oversee the daily operations of our livestock department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the health and productivity of our livestock, implementing effective breeding programmes, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. This newly created position will provide the opportunity for the successful candidate to implement their ideas, expand and drive this diverse livestock enterprise forward.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Overseeing the daily care and management of livestock

  • Implementing and managing breeding programmes

  • Monitoring animal health and arranging veterinary care as needed

  • Ensuring compliance with animal welfare and biosecurity standards

  • Managing and mentoring a small team of dedicated farm staff

  • Developing and implementing strategies for improving productivity

 

Skills and Experience:


  • Proven experience in livestock management, preferably in a leadership role

  • Strong knowledge of animal husbandry and breeding

  • Formal training and qualifications; A degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, or a related field is preferred

  • A practical, hands-on attitude with excellent leadership and team management skills

  • Well organised with attention to detail and a keenness to provide the highest standards

  • Full UK driving licence
