Exciting job opportunity for a enthusiastic Young Stock/Calf Rearer on a multiple site dairy farming business.
We are looking to recruit someone to take responsibility for calf rearing and overseeing the development and welfare of all our young stock across our three dairy's. We are a progressive family operated business with a fantastic team of employees; with this job roll coming available due to expansion.
We are a multiple site dairy and arable farming business in Wiltshire spanning 3000acres. Milking on three sites, 220 and 320 autumn calving and 330 spring calving. The farms are pasture based, producing as much milk from grazing and rearing the young stock at grass as much as possible.
The role; responsibility of all aspects of calf rearing through the the calving periods. Feeding, dehorning, weighing, weaning, maintaining health and welfare of the animals to the highest standard. You will also have the responsibility of working along side the herdsman at the three dairy's to make sure the young stock are being fed correctly and growing at the desired rate, by regular weighing. When the dairy's are not calving you will be needed to support the dairy's with relief milking, stock hygiene and general farm work.
