This is a new position for a motivated herdperson to work alongside the herd owners and be responsible for the day to day care of the 280 cows. The farm is located on the beautiful Staffordshire/Shropshire borders and offers a modern setup of a 20:40 herringbone parlour with ADF, electric foot trimming crush, sand beds, some loose housing and AYR calving. Duties would include milking, AI, footrimming, other stock work, record keeping and liasing with our vet. A high level of attention to detail and stockmanship is expected with the ability to observe heats, spot sick/lame cows and calving cows needing attention. We are offering the opportunity to take on a level of responsibility although applications from less experienced applicants are welcomed if they have the right attitude and are willing to further learn and progress. We are happy to provide access to further training.
