Description

We are looking for a herdsperson with or without experience but with a keen interest to be part of a 5 person team, on a 400 cow dairy on the Northants/Cambs border. The main role is milking and associated milking routine activities to include scraping, and maintaining a high standard of cubicle care. The job will also involve being part of a team being responsible for drying off cows, calving, heat detection, AI and foot trimming, young stock and general yard work. Ongoing training will be provided.

The dairy was built on a green field site in 2014 incorporating new cubicle buildings, new herringbone GEA parlor using auto id, a heat detection system and new modern machinery. The milking herd is housed all year round and fed on a full TMR ration. Calving takes place between May and November

The applicant must have an interest in dairy farming and be able to provide one recent reference. Applicants need to have a good command of the English language to facilitate good communication within the dairy team.
