We have an exciting position for a Herdsperson to join the team at our Farm in Arlingham, Gloucester.

We milk 220 cows through 4 Lely robots with an average yield of 12,000 litres per cow per year.

Milk is sold to Sainsburys on a premium contract requiring high standards.

Modern farm facilities that include:

• Automatic scrapers and footbaths


• AI contracted out to Genus RMS


• Foot care contracted out to a local foot trimmer


• Calf health is overseen by a vet tech on a weekly basis

Duties to include:

• Take responsibility for the herd and robots when the owner is off the farm


• Assisting with robot management & maintenance - requiring a good level of IT skills


• Night call outs on a rota basis


• Collecting cows as required


• Assisting with herd health procedures


• Diligent record keeping


• Assistance with youngstock as required


• Feeding on a relief basis


• Scraping on a relief basis


• Some tractor work as required

The candidate:

• Experience of working with robots is essential


• A full driving license is essential


• Good time keeping is essential and a can-do attitude is important

We are a great believer in a good/life balance. A normal day will be 8 am 6pm with time off in the day. You will have every other Monday & Tuesday off, as well as every other Wednesday morning.

We require someone to live on site for this role. A very good mobile home will be made available with double glazing and gas central heating.
