We are a family run farming business based in the heart of Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, comprising of two dairy herds, an earlies to main crop potato programme, winter brassica and daffodil production as well as cereals and grassland encompassing over 2,000 acres.
An exciting opportunity has come up to become part of the team managing 300 high-yielding dairy cows operating an autumn/winter calving based system. Cows are mainly fed on a TMR and milked twice a day through a 20/40 swing over herringbone parlour
Duties to include milking, observing heats, AI, routine vet work, feeding, scraping, bedding, recording paperwork and other tasks to ensure the smooth running of the dairy herd.
We are looking for someone with previous milking experience and good livestock skills are essential. DIY AI skills would also be beneficial but not essential as training can be provided. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, willing to learn, keen to work as part of a team and also by their own initiative.
A full UK driving licence is required. The nature of the job means that it includes busy periods during calving/silage making and quieter periods also.
In return we offer a competitive package, salary with will be dependant on the candidates experience. Training opportunities to further develop skills/knowledge.
