Head of Farming job in Yorkshire

We are looking for an experienced individual to manage all farming activities associated with provision of energy crop feed stocks for our portfolio of Anaerobic Digestion plants.

The role is based out of the York office with travel to Yorkshire, Scotland and Shropshire. This role is supported by a centralized function and General Managers.

The successful individual:

• Experience sourcing and negotiating feed stock supply, managing and negotiating contracts, working with farmers and contractors


• An understanding of crops, agriculture and logistics


• Industry experience is a benefit, however not essential


• An understanding of budgeting and future planning is essential for this role


• The ability source additional feed stock when required is essential

The resultant digestate from the AD process is spread on the farmland that supplies the energy crops. An understanding of the legislation and guidance around farming rules for water, digestate spreading and closed periods would also be beneficial.
