Salary

Negotiable depending on experience (Minimum £33k plus 3-bedroom cottage and council tax) for a permanent full-time role.

Objectives

We are a lowland mixed arable and livestock farm in Fife. A Pasture For Life certified herd of 200 suckler cows is managed on permanent pasture and cover crops during the summer and silage and brassica cover crops over winter. There will continue to be significant investment in livestock infrastructure to build soil fertility across the farm.

Duties and Responsibilities

Including but not limited to:

In collaboration with Farms Manager:

Develop grazing plans to make most of pasture and forage

Monitor and record grass growth to inform management decisions

Develop breeding plans to strengthen the herd

Plan winter feeding and housing requirements

Drive herd towards a full outdoors herd including calving

Maximise utilisation of resources, including integration with arable operations and increase diversity of livestock

Maintenance of medical records

Experience preferable but training will be provided
