We are seeking a general farm worker to undertake work on a busy livestock farm in West Sussex. The farm extends to around 470 acres of permanent pasture and woodland. The farm has a herd of 139 Hereford cattle and 629 Lleyn and Herdwick sheep, as well as a herd of around 70 pigs.
The farm currently operates with a Farm Manager and two livestock workers but are looking to recruit an additional worker due to the expanding livestock enterprise.
The main tasks involve:
•Assisting with livestock care during peak times and when other staff are absent
•Assisting with field operations such as hay cutting and silage baling
•Assisting with general farm maintenance including fencing, hedge planting, fallen tree removal, pond clearing, ditch maintenance, etc.
•Maintaining trackways and public rights of way
•Assisting with the relaying and repair of water pipes and troughs around the farm
•Maintaining agricultural vehicles, machinery and equipment
•Provide cover in times of sickness and holidays
Hours: approx. 48 hours per week plus every other weekend checking and feeding stock

Accommodation can be provided if required. There is a primary school in Plaistow which is 1 mile north of the farm and a secondary school in Billingshurst around 7 miles away. The two local villages, Kirdford and Plaistow, have pubs and local shops
