We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced farm hand with experience of public engagement for our sheep farm in the North Cotswolds, near Moreton-in-Marsh.

We run an 600+ pasture-fed sheep dairy across 300 acres, currently milking 400. The farm has an independent award-winning cheesemaker contract, located just a few miles from the farm.

This is a full time, permanent position and a great opportunity for someone to work with a small team on an expanding family farm. Experience of sheep is essential, as is a full UK driving license, tractor and loader tickets as well as livestock trailer experience. The salary package is competitive but will depend upon experience.

The Role:

•Reporting directly to farm owner

•General sheep husbandry of the dairy flock and followers, reporting with guidance to the head shepherd

•Maintaining high levels of animal welfare

•Maintaining documentation for farm assurance

•On-hand during lambing season

•Daily general farm duties such as feeding, bedding down, repairs, fencing etc

•Simple plumbing and basic DIY capabilities a bonus

•Completion of Master of Medicine course desirable

•Act as a friendly and knowledgeable ambassador for BLACKLION Vodka

•Engage with visitors and lead tours of the farm, explaining the role of sheep in our sustainable vodka production

•Communicate effectively with the public, providing an educational and enjoyable experience for all guests

•Punctual and reliable

•Strong communication skills, with the ability to make complex topics relatable and interesting

•Comfortable speaking to groups of all sizes

•Livestock husbandry skills including general sheep maintenance

•Must have own accommodation and vehicle

•Our farm is open to the public on a limited basis, so it is essential that the right candidate is extremely clean and tidy and can keep the farm immaculate at all times where possible. This is extremely important.
