Dairy Assistant - Organic Dairy Farm - South Herefordshire

An opportunity has arisen for a Dairy Assistant to join our small and enthusiastic team.

The business is focussed on maximising milk production from grazed grass with a tight spring block calving system, well established infrastructure and a highly motivated team in place. Modern facilities and equipment.

430 crossbred cows in two units, plus a youngstock rearing unit. Supplying organic milk to Arla.

The role will include:

• Assisting with general day to day duties with the dairy herds


• Milking in a 14:28 herringbone parlour (we can provide training for this if required)


• Tractor driving including slurry pumping with our umbilical system


• Fencing and farm maintenance


• Stockwork with cows and youngstock


• Computer based record keeping

Requirements from the ideal candidate:

• Previous dairy experience beneficial, but not essential


• Some agricultural experience required


• Keen to progress your career in dairy farming


• A willingness to learn & a can do attitude essential


• A team player


• Driving licence


• Basic computer skills


• Telehandler & ATV certificates would be beneficial
