Looking for a calf rearer to assist with the rearing of calves from our block calving dairy herd (mid July - mid November). This position will be to take full responsability of the calves from birth through to yearlings and beyond.

Typical tasks to include:-

* Colostrum feeding of new born calves

* Feeding milk calves

* Bedding up calf pens as and when required

* Pressure washing and disenfecting of pens between batches

* Routine calf treatments e.g dehorning, vaccinations, weighing

* Identification and treatment of any ill calves and upkeep of medicine records

* Feeding and checking calves at grass

In addition to the above assistance with afternoon milkings regarding fetching cows from cubicles and bedding down cubicles

Every second weekend off, typical hours would be 7am - 7pm Mon to Fri during our busy calving period with reduced working hours/days from Feb through to Jun. This position can provided on a job share basis allowing for flexibility in working hours to suit candidates personal requirements.
