Assistant Herdsperson. A conscientious individual with a real passion for cows required to become part of a forward thinking team on our family run dairy farm near Stratford-upon-Avon. Regular time off each week. We have 270 high yielding Holstein Friesians averaging 8700l. The farm was built 14 years ago on a greenfield site and has excellent facilities including new housing with automatic scrappers and a fully computerised, auto ID, Dairy Master 14/28 Swiftflo parlour with auto drafting and backing gate. The herd is Autumn calving and housed in the winter (TMR fed) and grazed in the summer(April-November). Selling milk via a ARLA 360 Morrisions grazing contract, so attention to detail is essential. Replacements reared in house using Genus accredited bulls.

Recently installed 100 extra cubicles and newly constructed building.

The position would suit a person, who is self-motivated and enthusiastic, has good knowledge of Dairy cows and looking to progress their career on to the next level. Main duties will be being involved in all areas of a expanding farm enterprise from milking, calving, vet and med duites liaising with vet when required and tractor and telehandler duties. Candidates ideally requireTelescopic handler certificate, but not essential as training can be provided in key areas to increase skill set.

Accommodation is currently a tidy large 2 bed static mobile home, but construction of a new, on farm, 2 bed conversion has taken place and will be ready in the next few months.
