Assistant Herdsperson job - South West Wales

Due to the continued growth of the business and as part of a well-developed succession plan, we are seeking to recruit an Assistant Herdsperson with the intention that they progress to become the main herdsperson within 18 months.

The farm has 320 cows and is run as a grazing and forage-based system totalling over 600 acres, of which 200 acre is the grazing platform. With a clear focus on efficient milk production the herd calves in a tight Autumn block and is based on a closed herd of Pedigree Friesian and Shorthorn cattle supplemented with home bred crossbred cows.

Your role will be to assist in the day to day running of the herd, this would include, milking, stock and grazing management and cow health. You will work alongside a small dairy team and operate a New 44 Point Pearsons rotary parlour with associated handling facilities.
