Assistant Herdsperson - 700 Cows - Shropshire

We are a dynamic and forward thinking agri business, seeking an experienced assistant herdsperson to be a key part of the team on our modern, well equipped unit near Oswestry, Shropshire.

The unit - one of a number within the dairy operations of the wider business - has enjoyed recent major investment in terms of parlour facility - a 64 point rotary - cow housing and handling and general infrastructure.

Reporting to the farm manager and working alongside your counterpart on a split shift pattern you will take on a degree of responsibility of the day to day management and care of the herd.

Duties to include:

• Milkings


• Fertility work


• Daily record keeping


• Health and welfare


• Husbandry tasks


• Foot trimming if qualified

The ideal candidate:

• Eagerness to develop their career towards eventual herd management
