We are looking for an Assistant Herdsperson to join us on our 220 cow family dairy farm in Pembrokeshire.

The farm runs to approx. 430 acres with 220 predominantly summer/autumn calving cows on a grazing and forage based system, milked twice a day through a 20:40 swing over parlour with acrs, cluster flush and a backing gate.

Duties would include :

Milking, paying particular attention to a hygienic milking routine to maintain the high milk quality required for the milk contract. Help to oversee the day to day running of the herd including their health and well being and keeping up to date records. Other work may include grassland monitoring, de-budding young calves, tractor driving, feeding with a telehandler, summer field operations and helping with TB testing.

Foot trimming and AI experience would be advantageous although training can be provided.

Full Driving Licence required / Tractor driving experience essential / Experience in similar role would be an advantage

Working 11 out of 14 days:

Typical Hours: Monday - Friday: 8am - 6pm

Every other weekend (Milking Sat/Sun): 6am - 9am & 3pm - 6pm (Every other Friday off)

Salary from £25k per annum (Based on level of experience)
