Turkey Farm Worker
(This post is intended to be a long-term position with possible future progression to Trainee Assistant Turkey Unit Manager)
We have been established to invest in and develop a modern sustainable agricultural and property business for the 21st Century. We operate farming estates and manage direct trading operations run through hubs in the east and west of the country.
As a result of the planned progression and succession of the poultry business, the position of Turkey Farm Worker is available at a site near Grantham in Lincolnshire.
•40 hours a week in 8-hour shifts Monday to Friday with additional hours every other weekend. Weekend cover is by rota between the post-holder and other existing farm staff.
•Hourly pay rate: £8.91 per hour

Purpose of the role
This is a hands on role, working on a breeding farm involving regular handling of birds. The successful candidate will report to the Turkey Unit Manager and will be responsible for the day to day duties associated with turkey egg production. The work is carried out following set bio-security policies and procedures.
Key responsibilities will include:
•Refreshing bedding, feed and water
•Continually checking birds health and welfare
•Keeping strict levels of bio-security
•Safe handling of turkeys
•Egg collecting and grading
•Farm cleaning and disinfection
What we are looking for:
•Good level of English and basic numeracy skills
•Basic understanding of biosecurity and health and safety requirements
•The ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively
•Good attention to detail and a flexible attitude to tasks
•Candidates will ideally have experience in the poultry sector
