We are a 9500acre mixed organic farm on Salisbury Plain. We currently have an 800-cow beef suckler herd with 800 followers, calving in 2 blocks, selling stores at 12 months along with 950 acres of arable.
Under new management, over the next few years, we are converting half of our arable land to a beef finishing rotation with the aim of finishing all of our stock on grass/herbal leys and moving to a tighter once a year spring calving.
We are looking for an experienced stockperson to join our team of 5. You need to be experienced, calm, willing to handle cattle and proficient at administering veterinary medicines. We will require a good level of calving experience.
Reporting to the farm manager you will be responsible for carrying out daily checks, treating, and moving cattle, calving and occasional tractor work. The role is outdoor based and you will be required to work with others as well as alone.

ATV and telescopic handler tickets are desired but we will provide training to the right candidate if needed. This position involves long hours at busy times of the year and regular weekend working, although we have a rota with regular days off. We have good cattle handling facilities (and are investing in more), we have large modern and efficient cattle buildings and a full set of farm machinery in good condition and a fully set up farm workshop We are invested in developing our staff and expect this role to evolve as the farm transitions over the next few years, we hope this will allow the successful candidate to gain responsibility and develop their skills going forward.
