The role is for a herdsperson to work in a team of five people to care for 450 cows. Experience would be beneficial but not a requirement. The role is flexible enough for someone just starting their career or for someone looking to build on current experience and progress their responsibilities. Duties consist of health and welfare tasks, administering medicines, milking and yard work.
The fresh cows are milked three times a day with stale/low yielding cows being milked twice a day and grazing for as much of the year as possible. We are currently averaging 38L/day and hopefully this will continue to climb. Animal health and welfare is imperative to the success of our business.
