This role covers arable, dairy and beef duties while working as part of a team. It will include tractor work as well as livestock handling and calf care. Tractor work will not include main cultivation work or harvesting equipment, but the supporting work such as hauling, rolling, dung spreading and topping. The role will require regular use of a telehandler to assist with cattle feeding and an ATV to move cattle across the farm, therefore additional training will be given to any successful candidate if required.
Livestock work will vary across calves, cows and bulls but will not include regular milking. The farm consists of 1700 livestock units including a 500 cow dairy herd and an 180 suckler cow herd. All replacements for both herds are home grown and all bulls go through our finishing unit so livestock care is essential to the success of the business.
