We are looking for a full time milker to join our team on a progressive dairy farm near Christchurch, Dorset.

Our system:

We have 450 cows that are milked twice a day through a 18/36 herringbone parlour, grazing low yielding cows with the fresh housed and fed a TMR. Cows are housed in modern sheds with mattress cubicles.

The role:

You will play a significant role in the day-to-day running of the farm, working alongside the Farm Manager and the Dairy Team, ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare are maintained. Effective milking/yard routines will be adhered to in order to obtain the best possible yield and quality of milk.

Key responsibilities:

- Assisting the Dairy Team with the day-to-day management of the dairy herd.

- Milking

- Scraping/ bedding up cubicles

- Dry cow management

- Identifying and treating sick cows

- Parlor hygiene and maintenance

Professional development and training will be encouraged. You will have a positive attitude, be willing to learn and will be committed to maintaining the high standards set at Holfleet dairy. On farm accommodation can be provided, with regular days off. Rates of pay will depend on the applicant and their previous experience.
