I manage a 730-acre farm near Stow on the Wold and I am looking for a farm worker to help look after a flock of 200 sheep; undertake basic forestry tasks and to generally help around the farm.
We are very focussed on the environment and wildlife through the Countryside Stewardship scheme. We do not use fertilisers, much of our land is wild and some of our equipment is very old, so the farm is unique. The work is challenging, varied and interesting.
Mowing, topping and hedging
Groundworks, watercourse and fence maintenance
Maintaining paths and rights of way
Basic farm vehicle maintenance
Basic tree work and chain sawing (if qualified)
Other tasks as required
Applicants should be able to drive, to hold a tractor and trailer licence, have basic ATV training and a LANTRA telescopic handler qualification. Chainsaw qualifications would be useful but are not essential, as would mini digger operator training
