•To join the Manager and work as part of a three person team plus relief milker and assist in the day to day management of the dairy herd as well as general farm duties.
•Milking as part of a rostered farm policy to be carried out in accordance with farm policy including cell count/bactoscan management.
•To assist in selecting grazing paddocks based on farm walk data using a plate meter and split paddocks with electric reels when required. Guidance will be provided on the system used to encourage a full understanding of the grazing system.
•Assist in the welfare and management of all stock on the farm
•Tractor work e.g. fertilizing, mowing/topping, fencing, feeding. Note the majority of field work is carried out by contractors.
•Comply fully with Health and Safety requirements.
•Opportunity to improve skills and training will be provided.
