An opportunity has arisen for a full-time Assistant Poultry Farm Manager to join our small friendly team as part of our family business on our modern 42,000 bird Broiler Breeder Farm.

Job description

-To assist Farm Manager on a day-to-day basis and deputise in his absence.

-Responsible for well-being and performance of the flock.

-Ensure bird welfare and biosecurity practices are maintained.

-Ensure that high standards of animal welfare, hygiene and husbandry practices are maintained.

-Maintain accurate records of eggs laid, weight of birds, feed ratios, medication register, accident book etc.

Person specification

-Previous experience with poultry and NVQ Poultry Qualifications desirable and in house further training is provided.

-A willingness to learn, self-motivated, conscientious and reliable.

-Ability to communicate effectively and have good people skills.

-To work unsupervised.

-Basic IT skills to be able to fill in forms and use e-mail.

-Own transport essential or a reliable lift as there is no public transport.

-Physically fit.

Remuneration Package

-In return for the right person, salary up to £36,000 per annum.

-House available in the beautiful countryside of Herefordshire by separate arrangement.

-Annual bonus scheme based on flock performance.

-31 days holiday including bank holidays.
