Our Farm, located at North Petherton is seeking a dedicated Assistant Manager to play a pivotal role in our farm based grain-processing plant. With a focus on adding value to our arable operation, our main diversification is the grain-processing plant, which uses our own and imported local grain to provide high-quality UK produced feeds for dairy cows and beef animals, in response to the evolving needs of agriculture.

As an integral part of the team, you'll handle the day-to-day operations of the grain-processing plant, ensuring efficient production, high quality of the manufactured feed and excellent communication with customers and hauliers.

Responsibilities:

Assisting in the overall management of the grain-processing plant, undertaking quality control/testing of grain and weighbridge recording

Coordinating plant operations to produce the required amount of animal feed using tractor and mixer wagon/roller mill

Ensuring quality of product through to collection by hauliers

Weighing in and out, loading lorries/trailers with correct product and recording details

Monitoring level of raw materials and finished product and communicating with suppliers and customers to ensure timely deliveries/collections

Collaborating with the management team to develop and implement strategies for improvement

Requirements:

A full driving licence and telehandler certificate (or telehandler experience and willingness to complete telehandler certification, with company covering associated costs)

Experience of modern agricultural machinery and a mechanical mind

Strong communication skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

A positive can-do attitude and willingness to use your own initiative when needed

Benefits:

Competitive salary, starting in the region of £14.50 per hour (depending on experience) to be reviewed after 3 months

Full-time or part-time, Monday to Friday only
