Assistant Livestock/Lairage Manager - Derbyshire
East Midlands

We're looking for someone to join our lairage team at our new, state-of-the-art lamb abattoir in the Derbyshire countryside.

We are a family run lamb and sheep abattoir and cutting plant located just outside the village of Hartshorne, in the National Forest.

The role involves coordinating between sheep buyers, hauliers and the production team to ensure the right animals arrive at the right place at the right time. Managing a team, unloading livestock, liaising with livestock lorry drivers, checking FCIs and licenses, feeding of animals, moving and sorting sheep into pens, using our software system and generally ensuring our production team have a consistent flow of livestock. Animal welfare is a key priority for us - it will be your responsibility to ensure that our high standards are maintained and that each animal is treated with compassion.

You'll be joining an enthusiastic team, in a rapidly growing family business, where you will be recognised for your individual contribution.

The job is 45-50 hours on an average week, Monday to Friday (a very small number of weekends throughout the year may be worked), 28 days holiday pa.
