My role here is to support the managing director in the efficient running of the farm's operations. The business is 530ha, consisting of combinable arable cropping and a pedigree Limousin cattle herd. Principle responsibilities within this position involve relief management of farm employees, ensuring all work is carried out to desired timelines and standards. Other responsibilities include general organisation and planning such as liaison with the farm's agronomist, Gatekeeper records, purchasing of inputs and pursuing arable operations such as operating the farms sprayer. Regular, accurate and informative reports are given to the managing director to enable and enhance the farming operation.

The farm grows 3,000ha of cereals, OSR, pulses, and sugar beet on a range of soil types in and around Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Cambridgeshire. The position involved primary and secondary cultivations along with OSR planting with a Case quadtrac 470. This responsible role required attention to detail, management of my own workload, appropriate decision making and communication to individuals within the farm's operation.

My main roles involved general farm work alongside the arable and livestock enterprises. Whilst managing my own workload some tasks involved working closely with the farm manager. Tasks would include livestock husbandry, grassland management and other associated tasks such as fencing and drainage.
