I have minimum tractor experience but have worked drawing in bales and spreading fertilizer. Confident driving a telehandler and forklift from experience feeding anaerobic digester, feeding out cattle. I am a confident driver and would be interested in gaining more experience in this area.

Other livestock experience

experienced stock person, worked on 900+ head dairy in 60 unit rotary in Germany, have worked in herringbone and standard swing over parlors as well in Ireland. Sheep and lambing experience on a 260 ewe flock. Worked with 600 free range hens. Worked in an integrated unit with under 30,000 pigs, the unit has 40 houses on their site, producing 7.8 million tonnes of pork each year, farrowing and fattening. Also worked on small scale organic farm with mixed livestock, calving general farm labor.

Farming background

Farm Jan 2019-March 2019- Milking 100 Holstein Friesian cattle in a 12 unit herringbone parlour. Carried out roles in calf management, bedding down, feeding and milking.

Private horse yard 2015-2018- Feeding, mucking out, riding and training young horses in this livery and schooling yard. Upwards of 20 horses were housed at any one time with youngsters being schooled and trained for sale in the spring, a role I played a pivotal part in.

Farm Relief Services 2020- Currently have roles on two farms. Manage a small mixed organic and biodynamic farm at weekends.Farming for community rather than industry. Second farm is calf care, management and feeding on a large commercial dairy farm of 180 Friesian cows.

Farm- Student professional work experience lambing 260 ewes, rearing 26 Simmental cattle and 600 free range hens for 6 weeks during one of the busiest times of the year.

German Hog & Pig Farm Industry - June - August 2021- travel abroad to Germany where I worked in a large scale dairy and a piggery.
