I have been a stock manager for many years and have worked in the agricultural industry my whole life, my father was a farmer which encouraged me to follow in his footsteps. I attend many sales, shows and farm visits throughout the year and have many contacts within the industry. I have worked with many different professionals throughout my career, from veterinary practitioners, auctioneers, farmers, feed and mineral suppliers, VOSA officers, Department of environment food and rural affairs officers and transport services. Communication is extremely important within any workplace to ensure public safety is met as well as personal safety, this has a great impact on ensuring the best possible service is provided to the customer.

I have a good working knowledge of health and safety within the workplace and know it is vitally important when visiting sites and operating a large goods vehicle you take extra caution by ensuring the environment is safe beforehand by conducting a risk assessment. I have many year's experience of driving a large goods vehicle when transporting cattle all over the UK and also during the harvest period when transporting abnormal loads from farm to farm safely and efficiently.

If I am being tasked with a new delivery location I will research the site beforehand to ensure I get there in a timely manner and that the vehicle can get to the destination safely. I will also make sure I have a backup plan in case of road closures etc. to ensure there is limited issues when delivering the goods on board. I have a great geographical memory of the UK and feel confident locating new locations. I have a great understanding of ensuring all transport paperwork is completed as well as ensuring my tachographs are completed correctly at all times. I am also aware that vehicle checks are paramount before driving on a public highway and that all company policies must be adhered to at all times when in driving a company vehicle.
