Farming background

Farm July 2021 August 2021

I worked here for 1 months on work experience to start me off in the farming industry. While I was here I learnt how to milk. They had a 500 milking cows and some calves. I fed the calves and made sure the beds were clean.

Dairy Farmers August 2021 Present

My day at the moment involves bringing in the cows for milking, moving fences for when I bring them back out. I make sure the calves are fed and bedded. I check to see if any of the cows are calving and write the numbers down for the herd manager. I use the tractor and scraper to clean up the yard and to put the feed out.
