I currently work for North Tyneside Council as a tractor and ride on mower operator, I have experience operating New Holland T5 and John Deere 5100M tractors, I cut all the grass that belongs to the council in the northern region of North Tyneside, I follow a planned cutting route which is performed on a two weekly cycle. Every morning before operating any machine I do daily vehicle checks and maintenance, such as checking oil and coolant levels, check condition of tyres and the cutting deck or implement, clear the radiator and intercooler of debris with an air compressor, greasing up the machine after every 8 hours of use. Previously I volunteered for Northumberland county council as a NEAT team operative. My main duties involved grass cutting, strimming, hedge cutting and planting. I have also worked with the county council Tree Team. I have done plenty of field repairs to machines to keep them running and productive, such as changing tyres with punctures, replacing damaged flails and belts. I have also repaired a broken differential lock.
I have my own STIHL chainsaw, which I use for firewood production at home, I enjoy maintaining the saw and Im proud of how safely I use it. I drive a 1995 Land Rover Defender 300TDI, I enjoy doing maintenance and looking after this vehicle. I am excited to make on going improvements with the Defender.

2020-2021 seasonal council grass cutter responsible for Northern areas of North Tyneside, responsible for expensive and dangerous machinery. I am a reliable and punctual person who is not afraid of hard work and an early start. I am hardworking, determined and resilient. I always arrived on time for work and often stay on to do overtime and help other people who are behind on their cutting routes. I have good communication skills and get along with people of all ages and backgrounds. My current role requires me to be courteous and friendly towards the public. I can work well in a team and have no problems following instructions or learning new skills and techniques from others. I can also work well independently. For example for many weeks now I have been working alone on my cutting route and still have been able to keep to schedule. I am also happy to help others and take the initiative. I am often the one to fix a faulty flail deck and give helpful advice to fellow operators, such as waiting for the glow plugs before you start a machine. I understand the importance of working safely with machinery and the importance of looking after my own safety and that of my team and members of the public. I also take care to wear the correct PPE for the job. I greatly enjoy driving and consider myself to be a responsible and diligent driver.
