Tractor Driving:
Corn carting: I have now worked two harvest periods in farms in East Anglia. My primary role was corn carting using modern tractors and trailers 14 tonnes+. This involved road driving and working in a variety of settings and sometimes working into the night.
Primary cultivations: After harvest I undertook some primary cultivations on a farm with a minimum cultivation approach. Using a Claydon terrastar attachment across the farm to prepare the soil for drilling, alongside this I used a subsoiler to cultivate compressed areas of the field primarily tramlines.
General farm work: Using a tractor for a variety of work around the farm such as carting various materials, farm track maintenance and also topping field boundaries in the autumn. Using different models of tractor both new and old to meet this aim.
Telehandler:
Primarily undertaking work within the grain store environment, as part of working during harvest I pushed up the grain in the grain store and also transported grain around the farm environment using a telehandler. Alongside this I used a telehandler for general farm work such as farm maintenance in the form of farm track maintenance to using it for chainsawing. This involved using a variety of attachments and working in a safe and effective manner.
Chainsawing: I have completed the LANTRA cross cutting and maintenance course. I used a chainsaw over the winter months as part of a hedge laying programme across farms in East Anglia. This involved working in a large team and to meet goals and to work to a high standard. Preparation for hedgelaying was also undertaken such as coppicing non viable hedgerows and general chainsawing.

Agricultural worker: This job involved hedgelaying and hedgeplanting in farms across East Anglia. This involved working in all weathers and environments and working outdoors so resilience was important. As part of this I worked in a large team environment and also was a team leader and had to teach and maintain a high standard of work. Often being in a leadership role teaching agency workers who did not have experience in this type of work.
Autumn 2021
Harvest worker
07/2021 - 10/2021
I worked on a large arable farm during the harvest summer period. This was a varied role but my primary role was corn carting grain from the combine back to various grain stores. This work involved long hours and working at pace but in a safe and effective manner. After harvest I stayed and helped with a variety of work from chainsawing to field boundary topping and general maintenance of both farm equipment and also of the grounds.
Harvest worker
07/2019-10/2019
My first harvest role was on a large agricultural farm harvesting a large acreage, my primary role was corn carting. This often involved road driving and long hauls back to various grain stores. A part of this was working into the night and undertaking different roles on wet days. After harvest I helped with primary cultivations using claydon equipment such as a terrastar and straw rake. Around this I did general labouring on the farm helping with building projects and also farm maintenance.
Adult Nurse
NHS | 2016 -
I have worked as a qualified nurse since qualifying in the autumn of 2019. This has been a high pressured role and has allowed me to develop a wide range of skills that are also applicable outside of the healthcare setting. Such as working at pace and in a safe and effective manner and having effective and thorough communication skills. My goal is to come away from the healthcare setting and move into the agricultural setting on a full time basis. It also means my first aid skills are quite good, although hopefully I wont have to use them!
