Other livestock experience

breeding and caring for a variety of livestock, within zoos, for the purpose of consumption. I have coordinated breeding for different mixed and pedigree breeds of alpaca, sheep, pig and goat, competent in hoof, diet and health management. Working with cattle less than other species, I cared for 2 bull zebu organising and planning vet visits and routine TB tests. I am experienced in testing, working with and preventing the spread of strains of TB, including biosecurity barriers to prevent the spread within a collection across species.

•Category 1 animal experience, carrying out husbandry and training for Small clawed Asian otters and Bactrian camels.

•Breeding and management of livestock.

•Fully capable of driving vehicles, reversing with a trailer, on private land.

•Control over animal diets within the farm section of the zoo.

•Working alongside experienced vets in a variety of circumstances, from camel castrations to foot care. Animal capture and restraint trained.

•Working independently and part of a small team across a 50 acre site.

•Proven in hygiene and bio security on a BIAZA and BALAI approved site.

•Prophylactics and wormer capable, using external, oral and injection techniques.

•Education within animal feeding talks, education session and talking to the guests.

•Public interaction and exhibition of the animal collection, ensuring health and safety standards.

•uploading record keeping on Animal Shelter Manager and filing paperwork.

•ordering food and supplies from a variety of companies.

•Safeguarding students and volunteers.

•Supporting and safeguarding SEN students to achieve the most out of their courses safely.
