Ploughing, powerharrowing, drilling (combination) strip drilling (Claydon), topdressing, spraying (PA1 and PA2), combining, conventional baling, mowing, tedding, confident on a 360 digger and telehandler. Have worked in local contractors gangs silaging and maize harvesting. Tractors driven mainly modern Massey Fergusons and John Deeres and confident with the green star system.
As a student I spent over year on a large 2000acre mixed farm in West Tisted Hamphire.

Since then I have spent most of my career on my family's mixed farm in East Sussex.
Ploughing, power harrowing and drilling progressing onto Combination drilling on pressed ploughland.
Minimising the plough to grassland. Reduced tillage on the rest of the the arable rotation.
Used the Claydon drill system of strip drilling.
Starting my career with relief milking 220 cow dairy herd, lambing 2000 ewes and holiday relief stockman for the pig unit.
Then I managed the family farm in East Sussex.
I had a 140 sow pig unit finishing to cutter weight, this was given up in the mid 90's replaced with a 70 mule and 200 Suffolk x mule sheep flock. Lambing the Suffolk Mules (crossed with a Texel ram) in January and the remainder in April (crossed with a Suffolk ram) Early lambs finished indoors the remainder to grass. All supplied to Waitrose.
There was also a 35 head single suckler herd, mainly Belgium Blue x Friesians and Simmental x Friesians, these were put to to a Limousin bull.
In 2010 these were replaced by a neighbouring farmers 80 plus dairy heifers, which I was responsible for all the day to day management.
