I am generally a more livestock interest and skillset however I am fully capable of driving/ operating most aspect of machinery.

Comfortable with most tractor driving and yard work duties. I can operate telehandler/ loader tractor efficiently. Other duties have included slurry/ dung spreading, pulling trailers, small scale silage machinery and competent in erecting fencing, both permanent and temporary.

I love the outdoors and country sports and when not doing farm work I often train my collie for sheepdog Trials. On a more social side, I am part of my local young farmer's club. We hold regular meetings, tours, and events where we raise money for charity.

Assistant Herdsman, 2017- Jan 2020. 

Milking and assisting with the daily care of a 360-cow spring calving dairy herd. This encompasses monitoring the health of all animals, taking note of any behavioural changes, treat minor injuries, give vaccinations and other injections, aid with calving, TB testing, drying off cows, parlour maintenance, and waste management. Other duties included data collection for the dairy unit including things such as plate metering and milk testing.

Assistant Herdsman, February 2020 Current. 

Daily husbandry of all cows, young-stock and calves on a 280-cow all year round calving robotic milking herd. This included all daily yard work and tasks with cows such as drying off and assisting with calving. Also care and maintenance of the robotic milking system and troubleshooting any problems. Other duties including taking responsibility for the breeding plan for the heifers, ensuring they get in calf via Artificial insemination.
