I have family that are contractors and spent small amounts of time seeing what they do. I have done work experience over the two years that I was at college (finished May 2020) this included working on a sheep, beef and poultry farm, lambing over 6 weeks on a 500 ewe unit. Also small amounts of dairy work at college and before I started working at previous employment. Along side this I have also reared two groups of weaners as a small hobby which was all self taught.
