All the mechanical work that is needed is carried out by by us at the farm and I am really keen to keep learning new skills. I would help service the tractors and other machinery.

Other livestock experience

I have worked for a few local farmers close to where I live in Kinross. My first farm job was on a beef farm where I had the task of feeding the cattle and bedding them, this has given me experience in working with live stock. On the farm I also assisted in calving.

From this I went on to work on a dairy farm so that I could continue to gain experience with live stock. My daily routine was preparing the cattle to be milked and making sure that everything was done correctly.

I am currently working on an arable farm in Gateside which I am really enjoying and I have learnt a lot of new skills by helping grow crops such as barley, oats, wheat, potatoes and rape seed.
