Have ATV Certificate and good driving experience on a range of terrain's.
Have extensive experience in permanent fencing for sheep and cattle and the establishment and set up for electric fencing of rotational paddock systems for both sheep and cattle.
In the process of obtaining my car trailer licence (Covid has caused issues) however have extensive driving experience of car and trailers on private road ways .
I Have extensive Livestock experience and consider myself a stock person. I have gained this vast level of experience on my family farm, previous employments and work experiences. I can carry out all the basic areas of livestock husbandry for sheep, suckler cows and dairy cows these include lambing/calving, dosing (interpreting dung sample results), vaccinating (creating vaccinating programmes), feet pairing cattle/sheep, sheep shearing (100 per day), dog handling (have family farm sheep dog therefore have handling experience but not my own dog) and nutrition feed plans for both sheep and cattle. Areas I have special interests in are grassland management and use of paddock grazing systems to utilise DM production and intakes of stock to maximise performance. The use of high genetic potential livestock which maximise grassland utilisation to avoid increased concentrate costs and overall enterprise profitability.
I have a great passion to travel and like to see new place and meet new people and their culture. I also like to watch and play sport such as Football, Rugby and Golf. I achieved my Duke of Edinburgh Ward by cameoing 60km of Ireland water ways and have always enjoyed other water spots such as Surfing, Kayaking and jet skiing.

Family Farm, Tyrone, N.ireland (2008-present)
This is a 140 acre beef and sheep farm running 100 dairy calves to beef on a 24 month finishing grass based system using the App Breeder to track performance of animals and the performance of calves sourced from individual farms and bulls to help increase performance and profitability going forward. The farm also has a 420 ewe flock producing lambs for a supermarket contract and producing pure bred breeding Charolias, Texel and New Zealand Suffolk rams with high genetic potential and performance off a grass based system. The whole farm is setup into 3 day paddocks and focuses on utilising grassed grass and ensiling high quality forage and also planting forage crops to extend grassing platform and reduce concentrate inputs for finishing lambs. The farm also previously had suckler cows Lim/Sim type cows however changed direction in 2013 to dairy beef.
Farm, Wales, Powys (February 2019 - September 2019)
Working as a stockman on an organic beef and sheep farm in Wales. The farm had 120 cows calving in spring and autumn with calves being both sold at live market and to a local butcher. The farm also had 150 Aberfield ewes lambing in April with all the lambs finished of forage crops for the local butcher. The jobs consisted of supervising calving and lambing. This included tagging and castrating, putting ewes and lambs out to pasture, planting whole crop, silage and hay making, checking the livestock out at grass and grassland management and the other day to day jobs on the farm.
Farm,Michigan, USA (August 2018 - December 2018)
Working on a 10,000 Holstein cow dairy farm, the farm was an intensively ran system with 5,000 cows being milked 3 times in two 50 point rotary parlors. I was part of a 60 full time staff team along with other students from around the world. The jobs consisted of milking, feeding calves, moving calves, bedding hutches, monitoring calves health status, identifying cows on heat, injecting cows for a synchronization program and other stockman duties.
Ashburton, New Zealand (June 2015 June 2016)
Working on an 850 acre grassland based dairy farm. Milking 900 Kiwi cross cows, rearing 260 maiden heifers, 300 heifer calves and 100 bull calves. I worked in a team of four people carrying out the day to day work of the farm. The jobs consisted of milking in a 60 bail rotary twice a day, heat detection, mastitis detection, paring and treating lame cows, irrigation and the management of the grazing rotation including the winter fodder crop (plate measuring and working out 12hr grazing areas).
