Responsibilities: Managing full aspects of the dairy. Milking twice daily in a modern 24/48 Delaval. Undertaking all computer records and inputting data into uniform linked with Delpro. Making all breeding decisions with the help of sense hub system. Undertaking meetings with nutritionist, vet and breeding company. All management of staff on the dairy writing rotas keeping staff happy and making sure smooth running of a dairy. Reporting to the farm owner daily to discuss day to day activities on farm and any issues. Making sure feedstuffs are ordered when needed and keeping an eye on the feeding of all cows for right mix and feed going in and amounts.

Responsibilities: Undertaking and carrying out all breeding for the milking cows. Recently set up a breeding plan with Semex to get better breeding and genetics into the herd. Carry out all AI on the cows daily, bulling checks and check all the PNC checks. Milk atleast once aday. Carry out all the computer records through Uniform herd health, registering calves, foot trimming. Making the vet routine lists PD cows, Non seen Bullers and PD- cows and foot trimming lists. Choose which cows get served daily by looking through the GEA collar heat time system. Help the herd manager in day to day management of the farm and overseeing the staff and milking routines.

this was a 320 organic herd this was in a 24/48 swing over here I stared as a herdsperson the in later years was put to herd manager. In this time I was milking twice a day in a two man team and then feeding, scaping and bedding when needed. making all the main decision in the parlour i.e. treating cows and not here we was using a vet trail and i was growing the mastitis to see if it needed treating or weather it was safe to leave for it to clear it self as well as making sure other staff was doing the job set to the right stander. Foot trimming the cows that had problems as there was a retain foot trimer here . this involved calving responsibilities and night checks. The farm used Dairymaster and uniform using the programs I was able to drafted out cow for the vet or foot trimming and see who would need to be dried off .

I was a herdsperson on a 500 cow unit . the parlour was a 40 point rotary here I milked twice a day. Calved cows and treated and problem like milk fever .
