Farming background

Lived on family's own farm since birth therefore worked on Dorset arable and beef farm during school holidays carrying out roles such as grain cart, primary cultivations/producing false seedbeds, hedge cutting, fencing and other general farm duties including grain store maintainance and cleaning as well as loading lorries etc. I have worked on numerous different farms picking up practical skills and experience in arable work such as ploughing(5 furrow Dowdeswell+press, cultivations/seedbed preparation, combination drilling (vogel & noot 3m power harrow drill), spraying (John Deere 24m trailed machine), round baling (John Deere round baler) and some relief combine driving using a small 24ft John Deere straw walker combine, I was combining crops such as wheat, barley and also grass seed.

I have also worked for an agricultural contractor where I was responsible for the upkeep of my own tractor and any machinery used so competant to service tractors and machinery. I spent 5 months working and travelling in New Zealand in 2015/16 where I worked for a contractor where I was responsible for drilling cereals, grass and fodder beet as well as bale wrapping and other silage related work. Currently working within the family business as an apprentice butcher however seeking to revert back to land based work in the arable/beef farming sector to grow my experience operating machinery such as sprayers, seed drills etc.

In previous employments, I have operated a wide variety of different machinery, I am competent to operate and adapt to a variety of tractors wether they be John Deere, Fendt, Massey Fergusson, Valtra, New holland etc.
