Suffolk, June 2018 - Present
The farm runs 6-8,000 store lambs yearly whilst lambing 4,000 mules. We run everything on mainly cover crops all over Suffolk, so I am very familiar with electric fencing (Rappa), Prattley equipment and trailering. My main role is worming, injecting, foot trimming, fencing and flock checks all year round in and amongst my education and other work.
Harvest 2020
During harvest I was one of two corn carts bringing in from 1,800 acres. Between harvest I also carried out other roles such as: raking, rolling, stacking small bales, turning and rowing up hay.
I carried out two months of soil testing (Ph +Pk) from the end of lambing to the beginning of harvest. I also worked for a season soil sampling for Needham chalks in 2019, where my main roles where to carry out Ph and Pk test throughout Suffolk, Essex, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire Cambridge and on the outskirts of London. My role also involved typing up and emailing results once tests where completed, map reading and planning.
