Farming background

(Northampton and Essex in summer of 2019)

Responsible for operating heavy and expensive machinery for hay, haylage, silage and grain harvesting. Every day a plan was put in place for the tasks to do for the day.

The Grain Harvest took place on the second farm in Northampton. Huge responsibility was given in a timely manner to work against the changeable weather.

Communicating with other workers about the tasks was key to being successful such as organising and servicing machinery on the evening before the next day. This ensured that machinery were ready to go for the next morning.

This job allowed me to continue building my organisational, communication and team work skills while working simultaneously with groups in a professional and friendly manner.
