My experience includes lambing deliveries, after care and managing the care of any orphan lambs; I have also assisted in the herding, moving and feeding of the sheep. I have experience with cattle, beef and dairy. Milking in a 24/24 herringbone parlour, a herd of approximately 350, assisting with multiple TB testings, weighing and vaccinating along with some general farm work (bringing the dairy cows in on a quad bike, scraping out yards and cubicles in a small tractor.
Managing all aspects of calf care on an all year round calving system for anywhere from 60-120 calves at a time, from birth until weaning. Reared indoors in individual pens, I manage the health of the calves, e.g. vaccinations and any medical treatment as needed, along with the feeding and daily care.
