Farming background

Underkeeper- Shoot-September 2019- to date

After finishing my temporary harvest position, I got a job closer to him on a game farm/shoot. I was initially assisting with raising the birds, readable to be put out on the shoot. I then moved on to feeding and checking the birds. During the shooting season, I was helping with organising the guns and beaters. I was also assisting with the maintenance of equipment.

Laboratory Assistant- July 2019- September 2019

After completing my college course, I worked on a temporary harvest contract. Staying on site, the main part of my role in the laboratory was, testing crop samples and recording data on excel spreadsheets. I was also helping about with yard jobs and general maintenance of the farm. I also was booking in lorries and contacting customers either by telephone or in person with any queries as necessary.

Stockman - February 2018- March 2019

While studying at college I wanted to gain some in industry experience on a farm so decided to apply for a stockman role. I was working on the farrowing and dry sow area of the farm, where I was managing stock, feeding, serving pigs via AI, carting straw and maintaining the overall health of the herd. I was also carrying out a lot of tractor work from feeding to straw carting. The job was part of my work experience for my BTec qualification.
