beginner knowledge of agricultural mechanics

• A 3000-acre mixed arable sheep enterprise, looking after 700 ewes and running 200 dry ewe lambs

• 700 ewes split into breeds for tupping going to Texel or Suffolk rams

• Scanning 197 200%, lambed indoors, fed on concentrate and hay

• Lambs are started on concentrate at 6 weeks and fed ad lib

• All lambs are gone before September

• Ewes are then all turned over and feet are trimmed keeping lameness to a minimum

• Gone from having 50% lameness down to below 5%, alongside the use of footvax

• The use of farmworks software, spread sheets and working to budgets
