I'm currently working on a 1200 acre farm, we have 350 beef cows, 550 sheep and 300 acres of arable. Over the last two years I have been share farming, so sharing day to day responsibilities and making the decision on running the farm, making decision on what cows we keep for our future breeding stock and what we put to the bull, sending fat cows and cull cows to market. Making decision on grazing plans, what we cut for silage and reseeding, since being here I've taken all the arable back in house, to regain control and efficiency which I had control on picking and using the kit, the farm has invested a lot of money in new tractors and machinery, I've been working alongside our agronomist making decision on how and when I cultivate and drill. 550 ewes are being run by the shepherd which we share day to day running of the cattle and the farm. I've just taken on some pedigree longhorns and Ruby reds for breeding and for selling meat boxes from the farm for the future.
