I'm currently working on a 1200 acre farm, we have 350 beef cows, 550 sheep and 300 acres of arable. Over the last two years I have been share farming, so sharing day to day responsibilities and making the decision on running the farm, making decision on what cows we keep for our future breeding stock and what we put to the bull, sending fat cows and cull cows to market. Making decision on grazing plans, what we cut for silage and reseeding, since being here I've taken all the arable back in house, to regain control and efficiency which I had control on picking and using the kit, the farm has invested a lot of money in new tractors and machinery, I've been working alongside our agronomist making decision on how and when I cultivate and drill. 550 ewes are being run by the shepherd which we share day to day running of the cattle and the farm. I've just taken on some pedigree longhorns and Ruby reds for breeding and for selling meat boxes from the farm for the future.

2000acre organic dairy farm, im head tractor driver, and do all the ploughing culturvating drilling, rolling topping, i do all the ground work, we currently grow wheat barley and oats, other jobs muckspreading mucking out cow sheds, cows were all loose housed and bedded down twice a day, though a straw chopper, I do all the TMR feeding and maintenance of clamps, I do all the tractor and machinery services and maintenance, other jobs calf rearing, relief milking 160 cows, bail carting, fencing, chainsawing, maintenance of farm and estate, ive just finished my AI course, chainsaw trained, angle grinder and adbrahsive wheel trained, ive done my first aid course, have my ticket for an atv and telehandler ticket, vet & med course.I started my first ever proper tractor driving job in February 2009 on a 1000acre dairy farm, from doing all the ground work apart from drilling, I'd do all the mowing a rowing up for silaging, and bailing and wrapping any silage bales, we could make upto nearly 3000 bales, also I would bale all the straw bales too. My machinery experience, TMR feeding using a John Deere 6930 using a twin tub mixer wagon, loading the feeder wagon with a jcb telehandler, maintaining & servicing tractors eg, oil & filter changes, greasing tractors & machinery, blowing out radiators keeping everything topped up with oil & water, Front mounted bail spreader, and sand dispersed, ploughing with a 5 furour plough, cultivating, rolling, slitting, slurry guzzler, muck carting, mowing, topping, rowing up with a class 3 into 1.and spreading grass, an all in one Kuhn bailier & wrapper. silage carting, bail carting and hedge cutting, and using a mini digger.

Other livestock experience

I have a lot of experience working with cattle, milking doing TMR rations, heat detection, calving, I also have a good eye for spotting any problems with stock. Milking experience milking 220 Holstein fresians though a 18/36 westfalia surge, with ADF swing over. I'm confident on finding mastitis and giving treatment, My current job position were spring and Autumn calving so I've got a lot of experience with calving and calf rearing too, Previous farms I've milked upto 400 cows, I've got a lot of livestock experience, from rearing calves, which have been fed on a machine, or fed though a wydale feeder, and looking after all young stock I'm happy at picking out sick calves/cows to bulling and lame cows,
