Worked May 2017 to Dec 2021 on a 1000 acre arable farm growing potatoes, sugarbeet, wheat, barley, linseed and peas. Primarily worked with the potatoes carrying out irrigation, topping, trailering and managing the Grading Shed. Grain carting and some autumn cover crop drilling done as well.

Assisted on dairy farms from the ages of 12 -16. Helped out with all tasks associated with dairy husbandry,calf rearing as well as silaging, grassland tasks and grain harvesting. Post school worked on 300 head beef, 200 ewe,80 hectare arable farm for 6 months where I assisted the Head stockman in the day to day tasks.No real lambing experience gained here, just ewes lambing out of sequence with the main flock. 18 months on a small 125 sow, 56 hectare family farm, again assisted the Head pigman in all daily husbandry tasks as well as harvest work and cultivation work. 15 months Head of Farrowing on a 500 sow 'Cotswold' gilt multiplication unit, carried out all daily husbandry tasks personally as well as helping out in other areas of the unit and harvest work. After completing college I returned to this unit as Manager for 16 moths overseeing 3 members of staff as well as looking after the Farrowing Houses as before. 3 years Farrowing House Technician/ Assistent manager on a 250 sow high health status unit selling progeny at pork/cutter weight. Managed daily the Farrowing Houses as well as helping out in all other areas of the unit and day to day management in the managers absence, every other weekend and every other weekly night checks

My father was employed in agriculture until his retirement working on Dairy or Pig farms where we lived in tied housing .As a child I loved being on the farm with my dad and from about the age of 8 -16. I worked on farms at weekends, after school and school holidays. Left school at 16 to work on a beef ,sheep & arable farm in the governments Youth Training Scheme, £25 pound a week close to Shrewsbury for 6 months. Got my first full time job when 17 working on a Pig, small arable farm close to Shrewsbury, spent 18 months their prior to studying my NDA at Walford College of Agriculture. Spent my middle year, farm placement/work experience year on a 'Cotswold' minimal disease gilt multiplication pig unit close to Bridgnorth. Upon completing college in 1989 I went to manage the same pig unit. Left end of 1990 to work in Horticulture with my brother in a production environment making bunches of cut flowers for Tesco and Sainsbury. March 1993 back into pig/arable farming until 1996. From then until 2017 worked in a foundry, ran my own PAT testing/ Fire Extinguisher servicing business for 10 yrs, then did day trading ETF for 6 yrs. From 2017, 5yrs seasonal work on 1000 acre arable farm.

Currently working in the construction industry for a joinery company specialising in fire door installation, 22 months with current company.
