Farming background

I currently work full time on 650 head dairy unit with swing over parlour, work includes calving and rearing calves as well as milking and other livestock handling. Previously whilst at college I worked part time work on a 600 head dairy farm on a 32/32 herringbone parlour, rearing their own youngstock and when needed I assisted with calving for 18 months, whilst there I also completed tractor work including slurry spreading, silaging, drilling and general farm work. Whilst at college I also spent two weeks lambing on a farm in Devon, assisting when needed, feeding lambs and checking ewes. I have also shown livestock in local young farmers.

During college I also worked in a preschool for one morning a week for a year and I worked at princess christian farm which is a farm catering for special needs adults and children. Whilst at university I had a part time job tutoring 1:1 with children who had been excluded from mainstream education, then during the holidays I worked at kent life and conquers outdoor activity centre.
